The area inhabited by this tribe is included in the Okmekmin traditional territory. This tribe also has something unique, namely a typical greeting called Yapkup/Yepmum. In general, based on references from books and journals, it is recorded that the Telefomin area is inhabited by six tribes, namely the Atbalmin, Miyanmin, Tifolmin, Trefolmin, Oksapmin, and Urapmin, plus seven tribes in the Bintang Mountains, namely the Ngalum, Lepki, Ketengban, Murop, Kimki, Arintap, and Yetfa.
